The cameras communicate using Airzone wireless technology in environments where it is prohibitively expensive to run fibre or cable back to central locations or to operate regular patrols. The network can operate over at speeds of up to 20Mb for as far as 20 miles without any data loss or operate on interlinking radios offering a Mesh Self Healing network if one radio goes down. The length of the link can also be increased by daisy chaining one radio to another one so the actual distance reached can be many miles. The installation is much more flexible as it can be mobile and if there is a short term issue that needs monitoring for example a construction development or a short term security breach, the installation can be easily dismantled and moved on to the next location. Airzone have installations in rural and remote areas monitoring fuel tanks, outlying or remote buildings, boundary fences, vehicles, depots, storage facilities, and warehouses, or where the ambient light after dusk is poor or non existent. This means that locations that previously were either not secure or regularly checked or needed regular manual surveillance can now be monitored from one location. Alert s can be sent back to mobile phones and as the cameras have built in loudspeakers and microphones they provide two way audio communications back to security staff, it is also possible to pre record standard messages that are initiated by movement. The Airzone wireless system operates on semi licensed 5.8 GHz frequencies substantially different from the 2.4 GHz used by basic WiFi office and home routers and other day to day applications; so there is no interference from the myriad of devices operating around us every day and the system is inherently more secure. There is no day to day maintenance of the network or the cameras required, and the cameras have a 5 year warranty. With a range of 5 lenses available from 360 to fish eye through to telescopic or to dual lens cameras which automatically switch from day to night according to the ambient light conditions there is a camera and lens combination to suit all situations. Mobotix cameras have by comparison to many other cameras exceptional low light operation, combined with the correct degree of infrared lighting they can read number plates in the dark. The cameras can be discretely concealed inside other objects so they are not obvious. With a robust, vandal proof construction and design the cameras are weatherproof with an operating temperature range between - 30 and +60 degrees C with no heating or ventilation needed, additionally there are no moving parts to go wrong; and the cameras are managed using a simple web style interface. This interface is available from anywhere and any device in the world with internet access. Using very little energy, their carbon footprint is minimal; Mobotix cameras are powered through an Ethernet cable, or even using Solar or Wind options. Once installed the cameras can be setup to distribute live images back to a monitoring centre, or to an email address or alerts can be configured to send SMS messages to a mobile phone, providing up to date details of what is happening at a remote or critical location. The images can be also stored on to a SD memory card built into the camera or to the secure Airzone server off site storage location, or your own servers. These images and video can then be viewed using a web browser. In contrast to the often imprecise images provided by standard analogue CCTV cameras, which are of little use for identification purposes, Mobotix high quality Digital images are tamperproof, watermarked and admissible in court.
